First Visual Literacy workshop in Denmark.
We’ve spent a lot of time teaching what we love to do outside of Denmark, but now the time has come to make it local.
7 years ago we were introduced to the world of Visual Literacy and we both fell head over heals in love. Ever since we have worked within the field trying to master our craft. 2 years ago we started teaching, and we have worked hard on crafting the perfect workshop.
Drawing gives visual form to our thoughts, using our hands in the act of drawing still remains the most direct and universal means of visual expression---Lets re-connect you to Making marks.
We both feel that now is the time to focus more on where we are, and therefore we want to spread the same excitement that we got the first time we got introduced to Visual Literacy in the city we live in.
We have designed a workshop that touches on what we consider the main phases within Visual literacy, starting with getting comfortable making a drawing and ending with the skill-set to do a big graphic recording, facilitate a meeting or lead a group using visuals.
If you are interested and want to know more don’t hesitate to contact us.
Either by mail or phone.

NORDIC MODELS AROUND SELF PUBLICATION --we gots invited, so nice so nice
PUBLISH AND BE DAMNED: NORDIC MODELS
Friday 12 October – Saturday 13 October 2012
Visiting address: Kungsbro strand 19, 112 26 Stockholm, Sweden
Publish and be Damned: Nordic Models is a two-day convention that brings together independent publishers and distributors from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The project is conceived by Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation in collaboration with London-based organisation Publish and be Damned. The convention unfolds as a conference and a fair, which will be accompanied by workshops open to members of the public. Books, fanzines, magazines and critical journals from diverse Nordic cultural scenes will be presented alongside other international publications from the archives of Publish and be Damned. The convention examines whether “Nordic models” in artist-led and grass-roots self-publishing culture are emerging. On the one hand it seeks to identify shared methods for staging and debating the intersection of text-based visual art with literature, poetry, theory, philosophy and translation. On the other, it focuses on the socio-political, economic, cultural and technologic working conditions of the participants in order to explore how their specific perspectives respond to local and international contexts defined by free-market and/or informal economies of exchange.
WORKSHOPS:To engage audience groups in the socially-minded and grass-roots nature of independent publishing tradition, two workshops will be concurrent to the conference and the fair.To sign up please contact Louise Dyhlén on louise@indexfoundation.seor call 08 5021 98 38 Friday, 12 October, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (for 20 participants of all ages)
A fanzine factory led by Sideprojects will involve participants to produce zines for themselves, and discover print-making techniques, experiment with editing, impaginating, printing, binding and folding fanzines. Sideprojects is an Århus-based publishing collective that considers itself an analog and web-based publishing and communication platform.Saturday, 13 October, 12 – 1 p.m. (for 10 participants of all ages)
Shack-ed(it)-ing Workshop led by Editors WITNAS. This workshop takes the idea of ‘shack’ as a conceptual and methodological starting point in order to consider the editorial process as collective effort. Using what is at hand, either gathered on-site or brought in advance, participants will build a makeshift structure with texts, images and materials in order to examine more closely the editorial concept of ‘picking and choosing.’ The ensuing reading, discussion, suggestions, corrections and selections will culminate in the forthcoming issue of their critical journal, WITNAS #8. It will be published simultaneously to the convention. -
